Meet Johnny 👨🏾‍💻

  • Johnny is a graduate of Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina’s Broughton High School and attended North Carolina A&T State University. Enjoyed a great career practicing Six Sigma (Black Belt) at corporations such as Xerox, IBM, and BlueCross Blue Shield of NC. Johnny became an active member in the Raleigh community through the implementation of several ventures, such as the youth-based educational non-profit organization The LIFE Foundation, the online directory #BlackDollarNC, the retail store Black Friday Market, co-manufacturing space The Factory - and most recently, One-Twenty Wilmington and alley-oop business. Johnny is a member of the Board of Directors for Downtown Raleigh Alliance and Dogwood State Bank’s Advisory Board, and is a former Board Member of A Place At The Table, with whom Johnny continues to support and collaborate with. Johnny is from Greenville, South Carolina and speaks on many technology and social issues.

    • Started The Black Dollar Corp. in 2019 as online directory (#BlackDollarNC), retail store (Black Friday Market) and co-manufacturing (The Factory) storefronts

    • Named Program Manager of LaunchRaleigh program in 2022 from Wake Tech and Rotary Club; Mel Wright of The Wright Village leads and runs the LaunchRaleigh program

    • Opened One-Twenty Wilmington in 2023 as creative / retail space in Downtown Raleigh

    • Launched alley-oop business also in 2023 as second version of online directory for small businesses
